Why Salty Rayne Gives Back to the Ocean

Why Salty Rayne Gives Back to the Ocean

Because without the ocean, there’s no us.

Salty Rayne didn’t start as a business idea. It started because I’ve spent years in, on, and under the water and I’ve seen what’s at stake.

I’m a scuba instructor and a conservation diver. I’ve hovered above coral that’s bleached and broken. I’ve swum alongside wildlife that shouldn’t have to dodge plastic bags. I’ve watched ecosystems shift in real time. And I’ve also felt the calm, the awe, the deep sense of belonging that only the ocean gives.

The ocean gives us everything. Oxygen, balance, food, life.
As Dr. Sylvia Earle says,

“No blue, no green. No ocean, no us.”
That quote guides so much of what I do here.

Salty Rayne Is a Creative Response to a Real Crisis

This brand is where my art and my care for the sea meet. Every print, every design, every piece of this shop is rooted in ocean connection, and a portion of every purchase goes directly to marine conservation organizations.

It’s Not Just About What You Wear

It’s about being part of something bigger.
It’s about remembering that we’re not separate from the sea, we’re part of it.

When you wear or hang a piece from Salty Rayne, I want it to feel like a reminder:
That the ocean is worth protecting.

Kindra Reiter

want to be a listener for those who have no one to hear them, and a comfort for those who feel alone. I believe we all have what it takes to lead amazing lives filled with wonder and excitement. I grew up in a very small town in Upstate New York, and I was what you would call a “problem child” growing up. Although maybe, I was just a little misunderstood. After High School I went to school in Syracuse, NY. My life changed here and I realized how much I wanted to help people, adolescents specifically at the time. I earned my degree in Human Services specializing in counseling.

After college I realized how hard it was to find a job with your degree, as I am sure many can relate to. I decided to move to Florida and continue my life as a waitress, thankful still for the education I received in college. During my time in Florida I became very interested in Ocean Conservation and Marine Biology so I began to scuba dive to experience more of it. Scuba diving then led me here on Maui, Hawaii. Since then I have still felt such a calling for helping people, so I decided to start a wellness blog. My main goal for this was to create a safe place in a sometimes not so safe world, even if it is virtual. I want to share my experiences with you and hope that they may help you along your journey.

Art and nature are two of my favorite things and I explore them both often. I think humans are meant to create in all different forms. I appreciate all forms of art and think we are all artists. Thank you for joining me on this journey.

Peace, Love & Happiness
