The Story Behind the Tidekeeper Tee

The Tidekeeper

What tidepools taught me about the ocean, and about slowing down

I’ve spent hours wandering tidepools along the California coast. It’s easy to miss what’s in those quiet places. But if you stop long enough, you’ll see life everywhere. Tiny crabs darting sideways, snails pressed tight to rocks, anemones blooming. Little mollusks I can’t name, but still remember. The tide leaves behind a whole world, waiting to be noticed.

Why I Created the Tidekeeper Tee

This shirt is inspired by those early tidepool walks, and the way they taught me to look more closely. To pause. To pay attention.

I called it the Tidekeeper because that’s how it felt to stand still while the ocean moved around me. Holding space for what the tide leaves behind. Fragile, beautiful, alive.

It’s also about rhythm. The tide always returns. It ebbs, it flows. We can learn something from that.

A Piece for Ocean Souls

The Tidekeeper design is part of the Tidebound Collection, and every purchase supports marine conservation. But more than that, I hope it reminds you to stay close to what matters, even when it’s small or slow or easy to overlook.

want to be a listener for those who have no one to hear them, and a comfort for those who feel alone. I believe we all have what it takes to lead amazing lives filled with wonder and excitement. I grew up in a very small town in Upstate New York, and I was what you would call a “problem child” growing up. Although maybe, I was just a little misunderstood. After High School I went to school in Syracuse, NY. My life changed here and I realized how much I wanted to help people, adolescents specifically at the time. I earned my degree in Human Services specializing in counseling.

After college I realized how hard it was to find a job with your degree, as I am sure many can relate to. I decided to move to Florida and continue my life as a waitress, thankful still for the education I received in college. During my time in Florida I became very interested in Ocean Conservation and Marine Biology so I began to scuba dive to experience more of it. Scuba diving then led me here on Maui, Hawaii. Since then I have still felt such a calling for helping people, so I decided to start a wellness blog. My main goal for this was to create a safe place in a sometimes not so safe world, even if it is virtual. I want to share my experiences with you and hope that they may help you along your journey.

Art and nature are two of my favorite things and I explore them both often. I think humans are meant to create in all different forms. I appreciate all forms of art and think we are all artists. Thank you for joining me on this journey.

Peace, Love & Happiness
